The flute is a popular choice because of its delicate appearance and tone. Under the instruction of a qualified teacher at Ava Music & Art Centre Ltd., students will learn about sound production, note-reading, rhythm, music theory, flute assembly and tuning. It is common for recorder students to register for the flute as well. We encourage our flute students to register for Royal Conservatory of Music examinations.
The saxophone is well-known for its versatility as an instrument, and for its ability to deliver powerful solos to its audience. Under the instruction of a qualified teacher at Ava Music & Art Centre Ltd., students will learn about sound production, note-reading, rhythm, music theory, jazz history, saxophone assembly and tuning. Advanced saxophone lessons will place a stronger emphasis on improvisation.
The recorder is an especially fun instrument to learn. The recorder is introduced to students in their Orff & Kodaly lessons, but it can also be taught privately or in a semi-private or group setting. It is common for recorder students to register for flute lessons as well.
